The Philadelphia band Smuts creates a blend of swirling synths and crunchy guitars that meld together to create moody, percussive pop. The band’s sound is influenced by a variety of genres including shoegaze, 90s hip hop, and trip-hop. Guitarists Andrew Min and Sam Ruschman create melodic, distorted sounds that are reminiscent of shoegaze. Lead singer Tay Roebuck sings caustic meditations.
Influences of SMUT
